Behavioural and social science ontologies

The BCIO is one of a family of ontologies that are applicable to behavioural and social sciences. To help establish an interoperable set of ontologies in this domain we have created the Behavioural and Social Sciences Ontology (BSSO) Foundry.

Interoperable means being consistent with each other and able to be used together for a given purpose.

Ontologies in the BSSO Foundry conform to a common set of standards. They currently include:

  1. The Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology (BCIO)
  2. The Addiction Ontology (AddictO)
  3. Mental Functioning Ontology (MF)
  4. Emotion Ontology (MFOEM)
